Reflection. Revelation. Release. Enter this interactive installation experience that uses mirrors, video images, and live performance to explore queer identity and self-censorship. Identity is fluid and ever-evolving, but societies often expect us to define ourselves and stay in one box. Nadia, a half-Iranian queer artist, investigates the catharsis of finding one’s personal truth and the implications of sharing this truth in a safe space. This installation is a space for transformation — for people to witness identities in flux, to reflect on how they perceive themselves and others.

Nadia Honary is a multimedia artist and producer with over 10 years of experience working behind the lens. She is passionate about telling stories through video and images, creating experiences that inspire dialogue and incite social change. Her experimental videos have been screened in various group exhibitions and local film festivals including AE Art House Film Festival, The Second Sex at the Gamut Gallery, and Feminist Video Quarterly. Currently Nadia is working full time for the public access television station St. Paul Neighborhood Network, where she teaches workshops in video production and documentary storytelling, working to empower underrepresented communities by providing the tools and technology in which they can share their own stories.
