Amanda LeaveckAmanda Leaveck is the founder and Executive Director for Face Forward, a nonprofit that supports local artists in a socially conscious community, and the founder and Artistic Director of Energy Dance Collective, a group of dancers dedicated to exploring a versatile amount of dance genres and movement styles. Amanda has been actively engaged in the Twin Cities art community for over 4 years, cultivating her craft as a dancer, choreographer, and community organizer. Her art has been shaped by many experiences, including the Zenon Dance Studio’s Zone scholarship program and the Pedagogies of Art for Social Change Institute for Interns at Penumbra Theatre. She has choreographed for the Ritz’ Theater’s Renovate Choreographer’s Showcase and Rabbit Shows at Bryant Lake Bowl, as well as the Universal Dance Destiny Showcase.  Her work was most recently commissioned for film and show by international musician Hope Medford (of Medicine for the People).  In June 2013,  Amanda and several other prominent female artists in the Twin Cities co curated an all female multidisciplinary performing arts event called SHEbeats, held at the Fine Line Music Cafe.  Amanda continues to excel in community organizing, fostering a socially conscious artist community in the Twin Cities, and creating a dance collective that is versatile and dynamic.
