Late Nite

The Late Nite Series is co-curated by Laurie Carlos and E.G. Bailey, and they review submissions and artists’ work in order to finalize the artists for the Series, which take place between October and November of each year. The primary focus of the Late Nite Series is emerging artists or emerging work (new work) by more established artists.’ We welcome work that is experimental, avant garde and works-in-progress. Our goal is to create a space where you are free to take risks, explore and even fail. Chosen artists must reside in Minneapolis or New York.

‘If you are interested in submitting for the Late Nite Series, please provide us with your email address, a website and links to your work, if they are available, so that we can see examples of your work. If you do not have a website or links to your work, please provide us with a work sample of 5-10 minutes of audio or video materials, on CD or DVD. Because of the number of artists that are interested in being a part of Late Nite, it is not possible to select every artist that submits, however, we do put artists on a waiting list for possible inclusion in following year.

Please send submission email to Please send CDs or DVDs to Chris Harrison, Pillsbury House Theatre, 3501 Chicago Ave South, Minneapolis, MN 55407.

Naked Stages

Naked Stages is a seven-month fellowship that supports emerging performance artists as they focus on their creative process and explore what it takes to bring an artistic vision to life. Naked Stages artists offer and receive feedback from one another and are mentored by local and national artists who encourage them to take risks and create work that is authentic to their unique aesthetic.

If you are interested in applying for the fellowship you must be a resident of Minnesota, attend monthly meetings, and be an emerging performance artist.  For the purposes of this grant, emerging is defined as artists who have not had a chance to make a full-length performance that is uniquely their own, and/or who have not achieved substantial recognition or audiences for their performance work.   Collaborators who have worked together in the past are able to apply as a group, though the stipend will have to be split between the artists.

The fellowship begins in April and the performances take place in the beginning of December.  Applications for next year’s fellowship will be available on Pillsbury House Theatre’s website starting in February, and there will be information sessions in March.
